Melissa Hudson, MD is Director of the Cancer Survivorship Division, Co-leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program, and a member of the Department of Oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has served as the Director of the After Completion of Therapy Clinic since 1993, which now monitors over 5000 long-term childhood cancer survivors treated on St. Jude trials. Dr. Hudson's research interests include protocol development and clinical investigations in Hodgkin lymphoma, the late effects of cancer therapy, and health education and promotion in childhood cancer survivors.
In addition to her role on ASCO's patient website Cancer.Net, Dr. Hudson serves as the chair of ASCO's Survivorship Committee and also serves on the ASCO Publications and Scientific Program Committees. She is also the Co-Chair of the Core Working Group of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) Long-Term Follow-Up Guidelines for Survivors of Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer and Chair of the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) Education Committee. Dr. Hudson has collaborated with CCSS and COG investigators in a variety of health promotion initiatives targeting childhood cancer survivors. She has published widely on her research initiatives in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma, late treatment sequelae after childhood cancer, and health education of childhood cancer survivors.
