Dr. Ronald H. Blum is a thesis honors graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and did postgraduate training at Johns Hopkins University, National Cancer Institute (NCI), and Harvard Medical School. Until 1996, he was at New York University Medical Center, Professor of Medicine and the deputy director of the NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Currently, Dr. Blum is the Director of the Beth Israel Cancer Center and Director of Cancer Centers and Programs, Continuum Cancer Centers of New York, and a Medical Director, Continuum Hospice Care, New York, NY and Professor of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Blum's research interests are in the clinical trials of new agents and their integration into combined modality approaches to cancer treatment. He has co-authored publications that have defined new practice standards for lung cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, sarcomas, prostate cancer, and supportive care. His other professional responsibilities include: consultant NCI; editorial boards; chairing data safety monitoring boards; and serving in leadership positions at ASCO.
