Robert S. Miller, MD, FACP, is an Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Clinical Associate in the Breast Cancer Program. He is also Oncology Medical Information Officer and Epic Physician Champion at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine in 1985, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco in 1988, and a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine in 1991, and received his graduate certificate in biomedical informatics at Oregon Health and Science University in 2009.
Dr. Miller is a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer and medical informatics. He has been an active ASCO member and volunteer since 1992. He currently serves on the Health Information Technology Workgroup, the Cancer Education Committee, and the editorial boards of Cancer.Net and the Journal of Oncology Practice (JOP), where he is a consultant editor and producer of the JOP podcast series. He is chair of the ASCO Integrated Media and Technology Committee and an active ASCOConnection.org blogger. Previously, he was a member of the ASCO Board of Directors. For his dedication to the Society, ASCO awarded Dr. Miller a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO) Award in 2011. He is also a past recipient of an ASCO Travel Award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Miller is also a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Informatics Association. He is a former member of the Oncology Workgroup of the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).
