Recognizing that cancer affects millions of people, the Yankees Radio Network and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) worked together as Champions Against Cancer to reach out to baseball fans and raise awareness about cancer and resources like Cancer.Net, which provides information from the cancer doctors at ASCO.
Fans tuned in and listened to the New York Yankees games live each week as they battled it out for the top spot in baseball, and heard John Sterling announce the games play by play, along with the cancer messages integrated into every broadcast. During baseball season, the Yankees Radio Network can be heard on its flagship station WCBS-AM 880 or on the affiliate station in your area listed below.
Cancer.Net also had a presence at the 5th annual Yankees Radio Network FanFest held at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York City in 2011, where fans enjoyed free games, food, live music, and meet and greets with former Yankees legends.
