Leukemia - B-cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia and Hairy Cell Leukemia

This year, an estimated 48,610 people of all ages (27,880 men and 20,730 women) in the United States will be diagnosed with leukemia. HCL accounts for about 2% of all leukemia diagnoses. An estimated 15,680 people (9,720 men and 5,960 women) in the United States will be diagnosed with CLL this year. There are no current estimates for how many people develop PLL.

Cancer statistics should be interpreted with caution. These estimates are based on data from thousands of people with this type of cancer in the United States, but the actual risk for a particular individual may differ.
