If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, you will interact with a number of different members of the health care team at various times during treatment. When you walk into a doctor’s office, hospital, or cancer center, you may encounter nurses, physician assistants, social workers, doctors—the list goes on. In this series, we talk with some of these health care professionals to learn more about their jobs and the role they play in providing high-quality cancer care.

In today’s podcast, you’ll hear from two oncology pharmacists who discuss the role they play on the cancer care team.  Oncology pharmacists are involved in many aspects of treatment, and they can be especially helpful in managing your symptoms. They can help work with the doctor to create personalized plans to alleviate side effects like pain, neuropathy, nausea, and others. Pharmacists are often available over the phone, so ask if you can speak with one directly if you have questions about your medication.

Hear from experts R. Donald Harvey, PharmD, FCCP, BCOP and John Valgus, PharmD, BCOP, CPP.
