Oncologist-approved cancer information from the American Society of Clinical Oncology

Physical Activity

Physical activity lowers the risk of several cancers and helps lessen the emotional and physical side effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment. While the health benefits of an active lifestyle are thought to build over the course of a lifetime, physical activity at any age can greatly improve health and reduce the risk of many diseases.

Physical Activity and Cancer Risk

Participating in moderate to vigorous physical activity, such as walking, swimming, biking, or running not only lowers your risk of cancer, but of other chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes.
