Dr. Timothy Gilligan is a Medical Oncologist at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board-certified in medical oncology and specializes in cancers of the testicles, bladder, prostate, penis and kidneys as well as in problems related to cancer survivorship. He is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine and medical oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, respectively.

At the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute, Dr. Gilligan serves as vice-Chair for Medical Education and has previously served as the medical director of the inpatient oncology unit and Program Director of the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship.  He is also the Director of Coaching at the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Communication.

Dr. Gilligan has published dozens of original scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, has written dozens of review articles and book chapters and lectures regularly on genitourinary cancers and healthcare communication skills, including educational talks at the national meetings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the Society for Urological Oncology.  He has worked on national and international guideline panels on testis cancer, and he currently writes and edits treatment guidelines and cancer-information summaries for the National Cancer Institute and UpToDate. Dr. Gilligan chairs the testis cancer panel for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
