Research for DIG is ongoing. Various advances may still be under investigation in clinical trials and may not be approved or available at this time. Always discuss all diagnostic and treatment options with your child’s doctor.
Because DIG is quite rare, DIG-specific clinical trials may be hard to find. However, patients and doctors are encouraged to review clinical trials focusing on childhood brain tumors, which sometimes include patients with different types of tumors. Researchers are investigating new medications, different therapy combinations, and improved imaging techniques to treat children with brain tumors.
