Latest Research

Research for inflammatory breast cancer is ongoing. The following advances may still be under investigation in clinical trials and may not be approved or available at this time. Always discuss all diagnostic and treatment options with your doctor.

The latest trend in research is looking at the effectiveness of targeted therapies combined with chemotherapy. The drug bevacizumab (Avastin) used in combination with the established drugs such as doxorubicin, paclitaxel, and docetaxel, is being evaluated. Bevacizumab is a new drug that works by blocking the growth of new blood vessels that can bring nutrients to the cancer cells, called anti-angiogenesis.
