The Annual Meeting  of the American Society of Clinical Oncology will be held June 2-6, 2017 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. The Meeting is a forum for cutting edge scientiﬁc and educational developments in oncology. It is a platform for the release of thousands of scientiﬁc abstracts-highly anticipated research news for many people, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and the general public.
Following is a brief overview of the opportunities available to patient advocates. We encourage you to share this information with any colleagues who may be involved in planning your organization's participation in the ASCO Annual Meeting.
The Conquer Cancer Foundation Patient Advocate Scholarship Program
The Conquer Cancer Foundation Patient Advocate Scholarship Program provides scholarships for patient advocates to attend ASCO-sponsored Symposia and the ASCO Annual Meeting to learn of important advances in their areas of interest. Scholarships help cover travel, hotel, and registration expenses and are based primarily on ﬁnancial need, advocacy experience, and current advocacy activities and involvement. ASCO-Sponsored Patient Advocacy Booth
The ASCO-Sponsored Patient Advocacy Booth is designed to give not-for-proﬁt patient advocacy organizations an opportunity to promote their resources and services to the professional oncology community. This booth, which includes 28 patient advocacy organizations, provides a venue where participants can display materials and where patient advocates can meet, interact, and exchange information with meeting attendees. Organizations exhibiting in the ASCO- Sponsored Patient Advocacy Booth receive two complimentary session access passes that their exhibit staﬀ may use to attend the non-ticketed meeting sessions. These passes may be picked up onsite, in the Patient Advocate Lounge, Room S402 of McCormick Place. The exhibit application form will be available for preview in December 2016.
Please note that your application to the ASCO-Sponsored Patient Advocacy Booth indicates you are able to commit to exhibiting at the ASCO Annual Meeting. If you are unable to fulﬁll this commitment it will result in a two year suspension from exhibiting in the ASCO-Sponsored Patient Advocacy Booth at the ASCO Annual Meeting.
Individual Patient Advocacy Booths
Individual exhibit booths, also near the front of the Oncology Professionals Hall, are available to patient advocacy organizations at a reduced rate and granted on a ﬁrst come-ﬁrst served basis, based on eligibility criteria. Organizations exhibiting in an individual patient advocacy booth receive two complimentary session access passes that their exhibit staﬀ may use to attend the non-ticketed meeting sessions. These passes may be picked up onsite, in the Patient Advocate Lounge, Room S402 of McCormick Place. To inquire about an individual booth, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org .
Reduced Registration Rate for Patient Advocates (for non-exhibitors)
Patient advocacy organizations may register up to four representatives to attend ASCO's Annual Meeting at a reduced registration rate. Each individual must be approved by ASCO staﬀ in order to register at this reduced rate. Those that are approved will receive a registration code and instructions. Registration rates, deadlines, criteria, and instructions are available on the Patient Advocate Information  section of the ASCO Annual Meeting website.
Patient advocate registration includes:
Access to all Educational Sessions and Scientiﬁc Sessions
Ability to purchase a Ticketed Session package (Ticketed Sessions include the limited attendance Meet the Professor Sessions and Clinical Problems in Oncology Sessions) Access to Poster Sessions
Access to Virtual Meeting and the Attendee Resource Center Entrance to the Oncology Professionals Hall during open hours Access to the Patient Advocate Lounge, Room S402
Downloadable Meeting Materials: Educational Book, Proceedings Part I, Annual Meeting Program, and ASCO Daily News including Proceedings Part II
ASCO President's Reception
Patient advocates are invited to attend the ASCO President's Reception from 7 to 10 PM on Sunday, June 4 (location to be determined). Invitations will be sent in April 2017. RSVP is required in advance and is limited to two representatives for exhibiting patient advocacy organizations.
Patient Advocate Lounge – Room S402, McCormick Place
The Patient Advocate Lounge serves as a home base where advocates can gather in a relaxed environment to take a break, utilize the computer terminals, network with others, and peruse ASCO patient information materials. Continental breakfast is available each morning and lunch is available on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Advocates can obtain patient advocate ribbons and cancer survivor ribbons in the Lounge. And exhibitors may pick up complimentary session access passes in the Lounge. The Patient Advocate Lounge is Room S402 at McCormick Place and is open during the following hours:

Unable to attend this year's ASCO Annual Meeting? You may want to consider a subscription to Virtual Meeting. This product is for people who do not attend the meeting and would like access to the meeting presentations, accessible by laptop, PC, or mobile device.
