Events and Educational Opportunities

There are many events held as part of and in conjunction with the ASCO Annual Meeting each year. Here are specific opportunities for patients held in conjunction with the 2013 ASCO Annual Meeting, May 31 – June 4, in Chicago. Information about the meeting program or other happenings at the 2013 ASCO Annual Meeting can be found on the meeting's website at chicago2013.asco.org [1].

Patient Advocate Webcast on May 15 at 6 PM EDT
Each year, patients, survivors, caregivers, and patient advocates are invited to participate in a free educational webcast upon the release of many of the meeting's scientific abstracts. During this special preview of the ASCO Annual Meeting, individuals hear directly from ASCO leaders about major research news that will be presented at the meeting on the latest advances in cancer care, treatment, and survivorship. Register for this webcast by contacting patientadvocates@asco.org [2].

Virtual Meeting

Unable to attend this year's ASCO Annual Meeting? You may want to consider a subscription to Virtual Meeting. This product is for people who do not attend the meeting and would like access to the meeting presentations (audio, video, and slides). A discounted rate is available for patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates, so please contact patientadvocates@asco.org [2] if you are interested in purchasing the Virtual Meeting.

For information on programs for patient advocates, please visit Patient Advocate Programs at the ASCO Annual Meeting [3] or contact patientadvocates@asco.org [2].
