Laura Goldman Weinberg
For some, cancer can mean an ending, but for Laura Goldman Weinberg, stage III breast cancer also meant a new beginning. After her treatment, Laura was left with slight lymphedema in her right arm and so while she was unable to paint with a brush, she learned to paint using sponges, fingers and whole body movement. Laura uses dance with her paintings and it becomes an avenue for expression of her inner self. This combination of painting and dance has spurred her interest in whole body well-being and she now works as a Laughter Yoga leader as well as a member of a local cancer support group that strives to inspire others.
“Art is an expression of life. And where there is life, there is hope,” Laura says. “Hope was the driving force during my treatment and continues to be the driving force in my life.”
