Delicate, yet Standing Strong
Karen Katz's photo of an upturned, sun-filled flower is featured on the May page of the 2011 Expressions of Hope calendar. “I enjoy expressing my appreciation of the beauty that surrounds us every day,” Karen said. “I have almost always drawn since childhood, and I photograph on a regular basis now.”
About art and how it has inspired hope in her since surviving breast cancer, Karen said, “I feel energized whenever I create artwork and photography. I feel that, similar to flowers, we can be delicate on this earth; yet, like the flower, we can endure and stand tall and strong and even blossom through many of life's experiences.”
