Rafael Colon, Friend, Lung Cancer
Linda's Hope
Rafael Colon is a sneaker and shoe artist based in New York City. He has made artwork for Music Television (MTV), Nickelodeon, Rocawear and many artists/performers. His artwork is featured in November of the 2011 calendar and was inspired by his friend Linda.
Linda was diagnosed with Stage III lung cancer in August 2008. Since then she has been fighting her battle against cancer, “as hard as she can. She is a survivor and will not let this get her,” said Rafael.
“She, like the hummingbird, is feeding off hope, strength, love and life!” he continued, “I do wish there was more awareness...more awareness comes more research that will in turn create better medications that will hopefully one day stomp this killer!”
Rafael is helping Linda with her fight and hopes that his drawings will inspire someone else out there to fight harder and stronger to one day beat this disease for good.
