Addressing Mental Health Needs of Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Survivors

This podcast is based on a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, “Incidence and Predictors of Mental Health Outcomes Among Survivors of Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer: A Population-Based Study Using the IMPACT Cohort. The study was published on January 25, 2021.

Adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors are at an increased risk for experiencing mental health issues after cancer. Yet many AYA cancer survivors might not receive the critical mental health support they need during their survivorship care.

In this podcast, Lidia Schapira, MD, FASCO, and Daniel Mulrooney, MD, MS, discuss a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology that looked at mental health outcomes for AYA cancer survivors and talk about how young survivors can get the mental health support they need after cancer.
