Dr. Amar J. Gajjar is the Chair of Pediatric Medicine and the Scott and Tracy Hamilton Endowed Chair in Brain Tumor Research. He is also Co-Leader of the Neurobiology & Brain Tumor Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

After earning his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Bombay, India, Dr. Gajjar completed a residency program in pediatrics at the University of South Florida. Dr Gajjar completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology oncology at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN and completed an additional year of fellowship in Neuro Oncology.

Dr. Gajjar is co-author of over 280 papers, many of which have contributed to the improved clinical care of children with medulloblastoma and other pediatric brain tumors.  In addition to being certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Gajjar is a member of ASCO, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
