Dr. Hussain is Professor of Medicine and Urology, Associate Director for Clinical Research, and Prostate Cancer Program Co-leader at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is a nationally and internationally recognized clinical researcher and expert in genitourinary malignancies, particularly prostate and bladder cancers . Dr. Hussain's research focuses on novel therapeutic interventions.
Dr. Hussain holds/has held numerous national scientific and leadership positions in clinical research, including Co-chair of the Prostate Cancer Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group, advisor and Chair for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Oncology Drug Advisory Committee, Chair of ASCO's Education Committee and Chair of 2011 ASCO GU Symposium. She is also a member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Biomarker Study Section, the Prostate Cancer Task Force of the NCI Genitourinary Steering Committee, and the FY11 and FY12 Integration Panel of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Prostate Cancer Research Program and its 2012 Chair Elect.
