The outer part of the eye is made up of the sclera, retina, and uvea. The sclera is the outer wall of the eyeball. The retina is the thin layer that lines the eyeball and is connected to the optic nerve. The uvea consists of the choroid, the iris, and the ciliary body. The choroid is a layer of tissue above the retina. The iris is the colored part of the eye. Around and under the iris is the ciliary body. In the center of the iris is the pupil.
