People with appendix cancer may experience the following symptoms or signs. Sometimes, people with appendix cancer do not show any of these symptoms. Or, these symptoms may be caused by a medical condition that is not cancer.

  • Appendicitis

  • Ascites, which is fluid in the abdomen

  • Bloating

  • Pain in the abdomen or pelvis area

ABCDE rule

Changes in the size, shape, color, or feel of a mole is often the first warning sign of melanoma. These changes can occur in an existing mole, or melanoma may appear as a new or abnormal-looking mole. The "ABCDE" rule is helpful in remembering the warning signs of melanoma:

Often, kidney cancer is found when a person has an x-ray or ultrasound (see the Diagnosis section) for another reason. In its earliest stages, kidney cancer causes no pain. Therefore, symptoms of the disease usually appear when the tumor is large and begins to affect nearby organs.

People with intraocular melanoma often have no symptoms. Many times, an ophthalmologist finds the melanoma during a regular eye examination. The most common symptom is painless loss of vision.
